Central African Wilderness Safaris (CAWS) has been in Malawi since 1987, and has been a pioneer in the eco-tourism industry for over 30 years. Between 1987 and 1992, founders Chris and Pam Badger conducted over 60 safaris throughout Malawi and gained the knowledge and passion for the country which remains the foundation of the business today. Originally part of the well-known and highly respected Wilderness Safaris Group, in 2014 CAWS became an independent operator in Malawi. Our roots are in diverse mobile safaris throughout Malawi and into Zambia. In 1993 we branched out with the development of Mvuu Lodge and Camp in Liwonde National Park, becoming the first private company to win a government tender to manage facilities within a National Park.
